
Washington School held our annual Ice Cream Social yesterday afternoon. Over 60 families attended. Thanks to staff for putting on a great event. It was a huge success!

Students from Belleville West Student Council visit Washington School to present "A Teddy Bear Clinic" to help our students become familiar with medical equipment, doctors, and lay the groundwork for making healthy choices.











Earth Day is an annual event on April 22 to demonstrate support for environmental protection. First held on April 22, 1970, it now includes a wide range of events coordinated globally by Earthday.org including 1 billion people in more than 193 countries. The official theme for 2024 is "Planet vs. Plastics."


Please join me in recognizing our 118 Occupational Therapists and 118 Certified Occupational Therapist Assistants. During April, we want to raise awareness about the many benefits of occupational therapy and show appreciation for what our OTs and COTAs do to transform lives! Belleville AmeriCorps at Southwestern Illinois College is seeking new AmeriCorps Members to serve as Summer Camp Counselors & Tutors for elementary-aged children this summer for Belleville Public School Districts #118 & #175. Counselors & Tutors will be supervised by, and work closely with, veteran educators throughout the summer. The primary responsibilities include tutoring; lesson planning; assisting the teachers in the organization of positive recreational and enrichment activities; organizing activities; and enforcing camp policies and procedures including the discipline policy for the children. AmeriCorps Members gain national service credentials, experience, and professional development, in addition to nearly $7,000 in cash & college money for their two months of service. The application deadline is April 23, 2024.


Belleville's 1st annual "Touch A Truck" is Saturday, April 20th.
