Douglas Elementary School is looking to hire a crossing guard for the upcoming 2024-25 school year. The hours are 7:30-8:30 a.m. and 2:15-3:15 p.m. on Monday through Friday, with an additional 1.5-2 hours a day if interested. The pay rate is $14.00 an hour. Today we celebrated the careers of four of Douglas School's finest, who will all be retiring at the conclusion of our 2023-24 school year. Belleville AmeriCorps at Southwestern Illinois College is seeking new AmeriCorps Members to serve as Summer Camp Counselors & Tutors for elementary-aged children this summer for Belleville Public School Districts #118 & #175. Counselors & Tutors will be supervised by, and work closely with, veteran educators throughout the summer. The primary responsibilities include tutoring; lesson planning; assisting the teachers in the organization of positive recreational and enrichment activities; organizing activities; and enforcing camp policies and procedures including the discipline policy for the children. AmeriCorps Members gain national service credentials, experience, and professional development, in addition to nearly $7,000 in cash & college money for their two months of service. The application deadline is April 23, 2024.
