Belleville AmeriCorps at Southwestern Illinois College is seeking new AmeriCorps Members to serve as Summer Camp Counselors & Tutors for elementary-aged children this summer for Belleville Public School Districts #118 & #175. Counselors & Tutors will be supervised by, and work closely with, veteran educators throughout the summer. The primary responsibilities include tutoring; lesson planning; assisting the teachers in the organization of positive recreational and enrichment activities; organizing activities; and enforcing camp policies and procedures including the discipline policy for the children. AmeriCorps Members gain national service credentials, experience, and professional development, in addition to nearly $7,000 in cash & college money for their two months of service. The application deadline is April 23, 2024.

The Administrators of the District Office visited our schools today to participate in the Halloween festivities and reminded the students to be safe and have a fun evening.
Mr. Tony DiPasquale has been selected as one of Emerson’s 2023 Excellence in Teaching Award recipients. Tony is among almost 100 teachers from across the St. Louis metropolitan area who are being recognized this year as examples of truly outstanding educational excellence. The Emerson Excellence in Teaching Awards, now in its 34th year, is one of the St. Louis region’s most recognized teacher recognition programs. Please join us in congratulating Mr. D on receiving this award!
